Leading UK multi-site processing facility with double digit annual growth is currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity to become the new Health and Safety Manager. To be considered as the Health and Safety Manager you must hold a minimum of NEBOSH general or equivalent health and safety qualification with at least 3 years’ experience in managing occupational health and safety, with basic knowledge of working in a production environment. As the Health and Safety Manager you will ensure healthy and safety practises are effective and proactive throughout the company, through adherence to systems, processes, audits, training and continuous re-evaluation and improvements. You will manage all mandatory Health & Safety training across the business. You will do this through management of Health and Safety practises across all sites through training and advising at all levels. You will run the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programme for all site, as well as any external outlets under the responsibility of the organisation, subject to change in line with the evolution of the business. Ensure that health and safety systems are prioritised and implemented departmentally by department heads. Including training where appropriate and clear communication of responsibility allocation. This is inclusive of running in line with PUWER, COSHH and other legislative acts. You will ensure correct reporting of accidents, incidents and risk assessments occur in a timely manner, and carry out investigation where necessary for continuous improvement in the safety of our systems. As the Health and Safety Manager you will ensure identification and mitigation of all fire risks and prevention of new fire risks where possible, ensure firefighting systems and equipment meet legislative requirements. Conducting periodic, mandatory firefighting, prevention & safety training with designated fire marshals with a development schedule. Ensure all staff are up to date on fire safety and evacuation processes.
