As the Health, Safety, Environmental Assurance Manager you will assist in the achievement of industry leading safety and environmental performance. You will be project lead for introducing and embedding the British Safety Council integrated Health, Safety & Environmental process and achieving industry leading status. You will be joining a team of 3 managers and 18 Health, Safety & Environmental Coordinators, this role is essential for managing the Health, Safety & Environmental Assurance function within the business which encompasses, management systems, inspections & audits, Regulatory Assurance and HS&E Committees. This is a key role in achieving BSC Integrated Safety and Environment 5 star rating. As the HSE Assurance Manager you will have 4 direct reports of Health, Safety and Environmental coordinators that are responsible for HSE management systems, inspections & audits, Regulatory Assurance and HS&E Committees. The successful applicant will be required to do occasional overtime and will be responsible for managing HSE 3rd Party audit and internal audit programmes to support delivery of continual improvement and continued certification including the Implementation of ISO 45001. You will lead the delivery of the documented management system to ensure it meets the requirements of all interested parties with regards to coverage, suitability and companywide adoption. Further develop the effectiveness, engagement and value added benefits of the HS&E committees and elected HS&E Representatives. As the Health, Safety and Environmental Assurance Manager you must have effective leadership skills and a proven team player, understanding of Management Systems & Certification with experience of developing best practise in HS&E management. You will be qualified as an auditor of at least one of the HS&E Management Systems ISO14001, ISO 9001, ISO18001 /ISO45001 with a NEBOSH (Certificate level) in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent and a background in Health, Safety and Environment. It would be advantageous to have experience within an automotive manufacturing environment however an Industrial manufacturing environment would fit well within the business. As the Health, Safety and Environmental Regulatory Assurance Coordinator, you will manage the process of sensing which Health, Safety & Environmental regulations have an impact on the organisation and establish a process that provides assurance that these are being met. You will have a strong regulatory assurance background and be qualified to NEBOSH general level. A broad understanding of HSE Legislation and the EU and UK regulatory framework is essential with the ability to engage and manage internal and external stakeholders, up to a senior level and communicate complex legal information in an easy to understand way. Experience of HS&E within automotive manufacturing would be advantageous, but not essential. The successful applicant will be required to do occasional overtime and be responsible for owning and managing the health, safety and environmental regulatory sensing function including maintenance of the relationship with 3rd party providers of online regulatory registers. To be considered for the position of Health, Safety & Environmental Adverse Events Coordinator you must have a background in Health, Safety and Environment with a good understanding of HSE investigation and analysis methods.
