This Chemical leader is looking for a highly experienced and professional Regulatory Compliance Officer to ensure the refining intakes, off site refining material and chemical products are moved on and off from the company and customer sites in compliance of relevant legislation. You will support customers and the inside sales team in maintaining company compliance to both COMAH and REACH requirements as well as provide expert advice to the commercial team, value added service to customers and training where appropriate. As the Regulatory Compliance Officer you will be responsible for Environmental, Health and Safety approval of all incoming material for Refining. Gathering information from customers to allow preparation of an internal use SDS by centralised function. COMAH classification of all incoming material for Refining. Tracking material through refining process, ensuring labelled appropriately. You will be responsible for customer assistance with Amber notifications. This will include assistance for Noble Metals clean down material, Preparation of Amber notifications for outgoing material. Ensuring all green material arrives with appropriate paperwork, working with internal customers and external customers. You will provide training, write policies and technical documents when required. To be considered for the Regulatory Compliance Officer opportunity you must hold a degree in a relevant scientific subject or equivalent with in depth knowledge of COMAH, Waste and REACH regulations. You will have underpinning legislative knowledge to interact with sales teams and customers and experience working across different functional boundaries e.g Operations, Commercial and Environmental, Health and Safety. You will have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data sets, building strong sustainable relationships with customers, effectively building rapports with and influence internal and external customers. The site where the role is based is a research/chemical and manufacturing site so you will need to be confident in this environment and have proven experience of containment strategies, exposure and experience of hazard analysis would be an advantage. You will need experience in environmental permitting as the site has an environmental permit which needs to be managed. Liaising with external enforcement authorities on legal compliance with particular regards to Permitting Regulations. Whilst developing/maintain an appropriate industrial/occupational hygiene monitoring programme on site. You will provide support for the identification and assessments of EHS CAPEX requirements and reinforce and strengthen the HSE culture at every opportunity within operations and projects. You will assist in assignment of chemical intermediates and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients to control bands liaising with Group/Divisional Toxicology or third-party experts as appropriate. Whilst assisting in identifying containment procedures for chemical processes.
