They are seeking a credible NCRQ, NEBOSH Health and Safety professional who enjoys motivating others in cultural change and leading governance. You will have proven experience in providing advice to operational teams on multiple RC Frame build projects. There will be extensive travel across the Northern Home Counties Region. Projects are currently in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. You will possess health, safety and environmental experience across high value RC frame build projects ranging £10- £100m. Current projects include; Educational builds, Commercial offices, government buildings and some residential apartments. The organisation are extremely proactive in driving through change, and an individual who enjoys influencing site teams will prove an excellent match! The ideal is a work history with experience of major construction projects. Experience working for a well-recognised principle contractor. NEBOSH or NCRQ Diploma with GradIOSH or CMIOSH status would provide the credibility they require, however candidates who hold the NCRQ/NEBOSH Construction Certificate and are working towards Diploma may also be considered. This is a multi-site role with occasional travel overseas. The working environment will be a mixture of office and shop floor based. The manufacturing businesses operate with varying levels of risk and complexity, in particular the use of large industrial, high temperature furnaces and complex plants. The post will operate at a global level to collaborate with peers in other divisions in further developing and enhancing broadly defined policies, as well as translating them into strategic objectives to drive business improvement in Environment, Health and Safety. This is achieved by providing direction, not only to Environmental, Health and Safety professionals globally, but also to senior management teams and local management teams. The successful candidate must be a Chartered member of The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health with strong knowledge and experience of working in an Engineering, Chemical or Pharmaceutical environment. You must be able to demonstrate experience in the application of Environmental, Health and Safety management systems with strong proven experience in supervision/management of professional and administrative staff. You will have a strong background in Process Safety/PSM/IH/COMAH. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence successfully at all levels of the business. You will be proactive and have a passion for Health and Safety whilst being able to work in a team and on your own initiative with a hands on approach. An experienced Health and Safety construction professional with good site based experience is required by this high profile principle contractor. NCRQ or NEBOSH Construction Certificate as an ideal minimum. This will be a multiple project role with excellent long term career potential so you should already be committed to your CPD with continued membership of IOSH. You will be advising, inspecting and auditing high value RC frame build and M&E works on complex private and public sector projects. The post will require strong diplomacy skills liaising with a range of significant stakeholders. Experience of site governance, maintaining high standards and ensuring safe working conditions.
