To be considered for the Senior Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist you must be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar working environment. It is MUST to have understanding of the German language as you will need to read and write in German to communicate with some colleagues (although most of the business language is in English.) You will need to have knowledge of EU and Austrian EHS laws and regulatory framework. It would be advantageous to have an understanding of manufacturing processes; Lean/Six Sigma etc. Reporting to the Associate Environmental, Health and Safety Director you will be responsible for specific environmental, health and safety programs and compliance for the manufacturing site, providing technical support and coordination in defining and implementing site EHS systems. You will proactively identify improvement opportunities and effectively collaborate across the organisation to leverage best practices and drive continuous improvement efforts. Ensuring ongoing evaluation of changes in Safety Regulatory requirements. Outstanding opportunity for an Associate Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) to join a leading global biopharmaceutical organisation based in Austria (relocation package provided). At the forefront of their industry with an inspiring mission, this is a unique exciting opportunity for a polished and professional Director of Environmental, Health and Safety. With a strong network of manufacturing and R&D facilities, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced EHS Associate Director to join this forward thinking giant and provide leadership and technical guidance in order to develop, implement, maintain and improve continuously the Environmental, Safety and Health Management System in order to guarantee full compliance with legal requirements and corporate standards. To be considered for the Associate Director of Environmental, Health and Safety you must have 5-8 years of experience in a similar role within a highly regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in Pharmaceutical and/or Chemical Industry. You will hold a Technical (engineering, chemistry) primary degree with a post-grad EHS qualification with experience in supporting multiple activities/projects whilst working with EHS regulatory agencies and corporate support functions. You must have documented knowledge of Austrian EHS laws and regulatory framework; robust skills interpreting and applying regulatory framework. With strong people management skills; proven ability to lead/motivate without direct reporting line/ authority. You must be fluent in written and spoken German and English. As the Associate EHS Director you will have strong leadership and change execution skills with proven ability to develop sustainable cooperative professional relationships on all levels of the organization. Reporting to the Regional Environmental, Health & Safety Director you will effectively lead a team of EHS professionals. Ensure the improvement and implementation of site-specific environmental, health and safety training to meet facility needs; including regulatory and best management practices. You will ensure an effective implementation and maintenance of tailored site-level EHS programs including the recognition and reporting of any potential deficient situations/conditions with appropriate corrective actions. Manage site EHS programs, including routine assessments, facilitating corrective measures as necessary and anticipating program needs based on relevant business conditions and developments.
